‘Tis the season for gifting strangers on the internet books! For the holidays, we’re hosting a Book Swap for our followers. This way everyone’s a winner!
Register to participate by Friday, November 21st.
Match emails will be sent on Saturday, November 22nd.
You’ll have until Saturday, December 13th to send a book to your book buddy and submit shipping confirmation through Elfster.
If someone has gone silent and books have not been sent, we’ll do rematching by Wednesday, December 17th.
Rematch gifts and confirmation will need to be sent by Wednesday, December 31st.
*Click the “Select Your Name” dropdown, scroll all the way to the bottom of the list, and click “add me to the list” to join! Elfster automatically generates a list based on last year’s participants, but the exchange is open to all!
You must be 18 years or older.
You must agree to share your contact information with Musing Over Mugs and your match.
You must NOT share your match’s information.
You must agree to send your match a physical, digital, or audio book and send confirmation of doing so by 12/13 through Elfster.
You agree to receive communications from Musing Over Mugs.
What if I didn’t receive a book?
If your book buddy doesn’t submit confirmation of shipment by December 13th, you will be eligible for a rematch! Rematches will not be guaranteed, but we will do our best to make sure everyone who signs up, gets a book!
How do I sign up to be a rematch?
You can send us an email to musingovermugs@gmail.com or DM us at @musingovermugs on Instagram! Hopefully, no rematches will be necessary, but we always like to air on the side of being over-prepared.
What if I don’t like the book I’ve been gifted?
That is a risk you must be willing to take when signing up! However, you will get to create a wishlist on your Elsfter account when you sign up. You can include specific books or tropes you are interested in!
Do I have to spend a certain amount of money?
No! Books can be of any value and you can anonymously ask your book buddy if they are open to an eBook or audiobook as well.
What if I don’t know what to send?
Part of this adventure is to figure out what might be a good fit for your book buddy, but you can use the secret message feature to ask your match questions about their reading preferences to help narrow things down!
